In the heart of Normandy, between evergreen lanes and sandstone spires, lies Domaine Cyprien Lireux, the estate of a cidermaker who embodies the new wave magic of French cider today.

From our first steps on the farm, eagerly greeted by ever-present Nutsie the dog (she appears on all the labels), we knew we'd arrived somewhere special.

For Cyprien, cidermaking began like many of Normandy's new school of producers, with fruits gleaned from his grandparents' orchards. But with burning ambition, he planted over 8 hectares of apple and perry pear trees of his own — an endeavour that took over half a decade to reach maturity.

That investment is bearing fruit (literally), and we have selected three of his finest cuvées for a limited UK release: a classic Normandy-style brut cider, an elegant perry, and an unbelievable Cabernet Franc co-ferment.

Cidre Brut

Dry / Fresh / Complex

A classic Normandy-style dry cider. Excellently presented with a Champagne-style cage and cork, and a beautiful pét-nat sparkle (carbonation that occurs naturally through a second in-bottle fermentation).

Pairs well with oysters and Norman cheeses. Also works nicely as a versatile table cider.

PRÉMICES

Poiré

Structure / Acidity / Bright

A bright, taut perry from seven varieties of pear. Very low in residual sugar, giving it a profile similar to white wine. Features beautiful pét-nat bubbles. A bridge between cider and natural wine.

With saline notes, it pairs particularly well with fish or seafood; perfect for a plateau de fruits de mer.

COUP-FRANC

Co-Ferment with Cabernet Franc

Juicy / Funky / Fruit-forward

Crafted as a 'vin de soif' — this is a super fun, highly approachable wine, made from 25% Cabernet Franc grapes and 75% apples.

An easy drinking pét-nat, perfect for sharing with friends.

7% ABV Available on request

The entire range is sulphite-free, made lovingly from hand-harvested fruit from the 2024 vintage, with ageing taking place before the juice reaches full maturity.
